Art For Change (East Harlem, NYC)

     Founded in March 2000, the mission of Art for Change is to encourage the advancement of positive,
progressive social change by using art as a catalyst for exploring personal, local, and global
issues, and as a means for disseminating information and resources. AfC provides a space and forum
for creation, discussion, examination and artistic and personal growth, stimulating individual and
collective reflection, which leads to action and change. By providing equal access to information
and involvement, we encourage active participation while building community. By focusing on
artistic expression, we play a key role in maintaining cultural traditions, respect and
appreciation for the diversity of cultures in New York City.
