Positive Force Advisory Group of the STOP AIDS Project
Welcome to the Positive Force Advisory Group home page. This is a list-serve for members of the
advisory group. For more information about Positive Force, please visit our website-
www.positiveforce-sf.org or call the Program Manager at 415.575.0150 ext 225.
The advisory group meets the second Monday evening of each month from 6:30 until 8:00 pm.
The Positive Force Program was developed using the Mpowerment Model, a peer-based, HIV prevention
for HIV positives program. There are several core elements to the Mpowerment model program,
including the advisory group.
The Positive Force advisory group (PFAG) should consist of:
5-10 persons who are knowledgeable about HIV positive gay men, public health options in San
Francisco, aware of prior HIV prevention efforts for HIV positive men and other organizations that
reach the same group of HIV positive gay men. PFAG serves as a resource for its general
membership, we meet monthly to offer advice on intervention activities, link Positive Force to
other organizations doing work in the same community, but do not have day-to-day decision making
duties.
